Serving the World

I love missions.  Working with and in my community.  Serving my church.  And reaching out beyond this city and meeting needs somewhere else.

I have grown up going on trips since I was in 7th grade.  My first mission trip was to Mexico with my mom and a group of adults.  I was the only child on the mission trip.  The following summer, I went to Mexico again, but this time I went with a youth group in Houston, Texas.  My family moved churches when I was in 9th grade, which opened up the doors for me to go to more exotic places around the globe.  My freshman and sophomore year I went to the Dominican Republic.  My junior year I student led a trip to Honduras.  Senior year I was able to go to a remote mountain town in Costa Rica called Rio Montana.  There we built a community center from the ground up and gave the village a clean water system.  I also took a trip two summers ago as an adult leader to Pawley’s Island, South Carolina.

I just returned home from a trip to Recife, Brazil (June 11, 2011 – June 17, 2011).  On this trip we taught Bible lessons each day and held an eye clinic in the afternoons. Spending time with the children and families there brought so much joy to my heart.  These trips have taught me about perseverance, service, love, and faith.

Please enjoy some of the pictures of where I have been and what I have seen.
